| Tobolsk-Polymer LLC and Linde-KCA-Dresden GmbH have concluded an Engineering Procurement and Construction Contract (EPC-contract) for a polypropylene production unit with the capacity of 500,000 tons of polypropylene per year. The total contract value amounts to approximately 450 million Euro.
This will be integrated into SIBUR’s new complex to dehydrogenate propane and manufacture polypropylene in Tobolsk, Western Siberia. The technological process of the new complex consists of two basic parts: the production of 510,000 tons of propylene per year by the method of propane dehydration and the production of 500,000 tons of polypropylene a year from it.
Earlier, Linde-KCA-Dresden executed a FEED contract for development of front end engineering design and supply of long lead equipment. In November 2009 piling works already started at the construction site. It is scheduled to deliver the main part of the large-sized equipment to Tobolsk in 2010 – 2011 and to go on stream some time mid 2012.
Tobolsk-Polymer LLC is a 100 % affiliated society of SIBUR Holding JSC created for implementation of the construction project of a polypropylene production complex. The complex is under construction in immediate proximity to an operating factory of Tobolsk-Neftekhim LLC and using its raw-material base. The factory is also a 100 % affiliated society of SIBUR Holding JSC.
