On 09th September 2008 the ceremonial inauguration of the oxyfuel technology pilot plant for Vattenfall Europe took place in Schwarze Pumpe/Germany. The plant is the world’s first pilot installation of a CO2-reduced lignite coal power plant. Linde-KCA-Dresden GmbH delivered the air separation plant and the CO2 purification and liquefaction plant for this project. The cooperation between Linde and Vattenfall Europe shall be continued in future. Therefore a Cooperation Agreement between both companies was signed on the same day. During the next years Linde intends to support the test run of the above mentioned pilot plant. Together Linde and Vattenfall Europe will elaborate new clean technologies for CO2 reduction.
